People familiar with Judy Aprile’s exercise classes for older adults use "dynamic" and "inspiring" to describe her teaching style. But it’s the results that keep Judy teaching.
"My reward is hearing from participants who are able to perform activities they previously could not," Judy says, such as taking a bath, climbing stairs, and hiking with grandchildren.
"I am inspired every day by the wonderful people who attend my classes," continues Judy, who works with as many as 300 stretching, reaching, and smiling participants across various locations, including the OASIS Senior Center in Newport Beach. Her goal is helping each maintain or improve flexibility, strength, coordination, and posture.
"Lifting the spirit is a key element I strive to achieve," says Judy, who holds a master’s degree in gerontology. It’s a bonus when older exercisers make new friends, she adds.
