Eating nutritious meals consistently made all the difference for Ricardo Benegas. The formerly homeless man at one time was "without work and without money, access to food, or a place to live."
GLIDE, a center that addresses poverty and social justice, gave Ricardo nourishment and hope. "The food is delicious, fresh, and helps me save money, which I don’t have much of," he says.
"I recently found some employment and a place to live," Ricardo continues, adding that the center remains "my lifeline. I really appreciate the meals it offers."
Stories like Ricardo’s highlight how California’s 50 years of dedicated services to older adults has helped people thrive.
