Health Promotion: Evidence-Based Programs

Through the Older Americans Act (OAA), the Title IIID Health Promotion Program was established in 1987. The mission of the program is to provide evidence-based programs that support healthy lifestyles and promote healthy behaviors among older adults, age 60 and older. Evidence-based programs are based on scientific research and have been demonstrated to be effective in improving the health of older adults.

CDA administers the Health Promotion program through the 33 Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) and their service providers to offer a wide variety of evidence-based programs, including managing chronic health conditions, engaging in physical activity, and support for caregivers.
