Excessive Heat Warning
Parts of California are experiencing significant and rapid increases in temperature. Visit the Emergency Resources page to find cooling centers, safety tips, and other emergency resources.
The State of California implemented the California Electronic Visit Verification (CalEVV) system for Personal Care Services (PCS) on January 1, 2022, and Home Health Care Services (HHCS) on January 1, 2023, in accordance with the federally mandated requirements of the 21st Century Cures Act.
The Provider Types and Codes document outlines the providers that will be impacted by EVV. Please reference this document to verify if your program will need to comply with EVV requirements.
If your program’s Medi-Cal provider type and procedure codes are not listed in this document, then EVV will not apply to you.
Those who provide Personal Care Services (PCS) or Home Health Care Services (HHCS), are required to register in the Provider Self-Registration Portal. As needed, please refer to the Quick Reference Guide (QRG) and instructional materials below to help complete your registration:
Visit the online CalEVV Training & Reference Library. Most of the featured instructional videos are fewer than 20 minutes in length. The videos may be accessed anytime and are a great resource for new or established staff members who use CalEVV.
The items below offer additional information on a variety of special EVV topics. These reference materials are designed to assist providers, vendors, and Jurisdictional Entities (JEs) to successfully participate in the EVV Program:
