Digital Inclusion

Through technology, we can check in with family and friends, share our knowledge and volunteer our time with our communities, stay in touch with our health care providers, find healthy foods, perform meaningful work, and learn new skills –all from a safe distance. We can work together to bridge the "digital divide" and make sure eligible Californians have access to affordable high-speed internet, devices and skills to navigate online safely, and meaningful content and tools to meet their needs. The Digital Inclusion Impact on Older Adults is life changing.

A participant with disabilities is unable to drive and has not seen his wife in over a year as she was institutionalized with severe dementia 45 minutes away. Thanks to his Multipurpose Supportive Services Program’s participation in Digital Inclusion, his new iPad will bridge the gap and he will be able to finally reconnect with her. He can also use this technology to attend appointments and research his interests.
