Device Resources

A device used to address the digital divide should be able to maintain the following features:

  • GeneralApp Compatibility (ex: Zoom or FaceTime)
  • Mobility so its Easy to carry and a person can move around to different areas as needed to ensure access
  • Connectivity with either Wifi capability or 5G broadband capability

Resources

Free or low-cost resources. Some resources may limit or have special conditions for those who qualify (ex: only for low-income, limited by geographic area, requires a subscription, etc.)

  • CDA Digital Connections Program Home and community-based programs to help bridge the digital divide for older adults including purchasing digital devices, service plans, and training.   • CDA Access to Technology (ATT) For digital devices, service plans and training for older adults and individuals with disabilities through your county.   • Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Low-income households to get discounts on service and devices
