How To Find Services In My Area

The California Department of Aging contracts with and oversees the local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) that coordinate a variety of services for older adults, adults with disabilities, informal caregivers, and family caregivers.

You can locate the AAA in your area by selecting your county on the Find Services in My County page of this website.

What Services Are Available

Congregate Meals Program

The Congregate Meals Program serves nutritious meals to older adults in a group setting with an opportunity to socialize with others. The program also provides nutrition education, nutrition risk screening, and, in some areas, nutrition counseling. Voluntary contributions are welcome, but not required.

Home-Delivered Meals Program

The Home-Delivered Meals Program serves nutritious meals to older adults in their home. The program also provides nutrition education, nutrition risk screening, and, in some areas, nutrition counseling. Voluntary contributions are welcome, but not required.

Who Can Get These Services

Congregate Meals Program

  • Persons 60 years of age or older regardless of income level
  • The spouse of an older adult participating in the program, regardless of age
  • Person with a disability who lives at a site where the Congregate Meals Program is provided or lives with and accompanies an older adult who participates in the program

Home-Delivered Meals Program

  • Persons 60 years of age or older who are frail or homebound due to illness or disability, or who are otherwise isolated, regardless of income level
  • The spouse of an older adult participating in the program, regardless of age
  • Person with a disability who lives with an older adult participating in the program
