Direct Care Workforce (Non-IHSS): California GROWs (Growing a Resilient, Outstanding Workforce in the Home and Community)

Project Description

This funding will launch a statewide Direct Care Workforce Training and Stipends Program (California GROWs) that will incentivize, support, and fund career pathways training for the non-IHSS direct care Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) workforce.

Quarterly Status Updates 2022

Quarter 1: January - March

  • CDA identifies project scope, schedule, and budget and develops project plan.
  • CDA recruits for a executive project lead

Quarter 2: April - June

  • CDA conducts market research for potential vendors to operate the training, stipends and innovation fund programs
  • California GROWS executive project lead is hired

Quarter 3: July - September

  • CDA awards a contract with training, stipends, and innovation fund vendor
  • Request for proposal (RFP) for CA GROWs Innovation Fund released

Quarter 4: October - December

  • Providers enroll in training and stipend program.
  • Innovation Fund grants are awarded
